Traditional would be the last adjective used to describe myself.
Growing up, I found myself failing to identify with particular community or cultural group. 
However, I quickly came to accept that it really didn't matter.
I could experience and immerse myself in traditions I wanted to.

I guess why I'm sharing this information with you, 
is because when I had to purchase a traditional outfit for a Sri Lankan wedding,
I wanted to find something, as cliche as it sounds, that was me.
Surprisingly this was easy to achieve.
I was able to find something avant garde, with a unique silhouette, 
whist indulging my self in the beautiful fabrics, bold and vibrant colours, intricate beading
that these clothes had to offer.
